An exciting and fun card game featuring great pirate illustrations by Demian A. Venzke. Box contents include 72 playing cards, a game instructions in German and a score pad. There is also a video game guide that is available online.
In Kartano, you embark on the role of notorious pirates and collect valuable treasures that you have to bring to safety from the other players during the course of the game.
The card game contains valuable treasures such as treasure chests, gold bars, coin bags or individual thalers. Some of these are common, while others are rather rare and all the more desirable.
If you have found and collected a certain number of treasures, you quickly bring them to safety before you suffer shipwreck or a fiasco – other players can fight your prey!
Only the treasures you brought to safety count among your points at the end of the round. The trick in the card game is that you can also bunker some rivets (cards without dots) to cheer them later on to your fellow players.
And that’s exactly what makes the card game really fun. Because no one wants to have the rivets of the other in a trade of hoarded treasures and must get rid of them quickly before the game is over.
In addition, there are nasty attacks via the function cards. Pay attention to how many cards your fellow players hold and play a shipwreck to someone at the right time to get an advantage.
If someone has their cards through e.g. If you lose a shipwreck, the cards are placed open in the centre of the game and are thus free to rob other players.
Be strategic and enjoy the loot of the other pirates with a ruffle, cheer them off your rivets and win the round with the most and most valuable treasures
A round is over once the third fiasco from the draw pile has been uncovered. Kartano is a card game for adults, teens, teenagers and children aged 12 and over.
